The Community and Professional Education Office is pleased to offer a History of Luther Forest class in Malta.
The Luther Forest in Malta is one of the best known locations in the Capital District. But what were its origins? It was once the largest private experimental forest in New York State, but it grew from a resort hotel operation and sawmill business, and addressed the impoverishment of Malta’s poor soil by careless farmers.
